Alaska The Northern Engine
Alaska is a young diesel, about as old as Pumpkin, who came shortly after he did. She came to increase passenger travel appeal with her four double-decker coaches, Talkeetna, Kenai, Knik, and Deshka. At first, no one knew who she was because she only ran at night, and the other engines thought her a ghost. They became scared of her, until she finally was scheduled for a day run, and the engines grew to know and love her. She is quiet, calm, contemplative, and smart. Alaska does have a tendency to be lightheaded though. Alaska is based on an Alaska Railroad GP40 B-B #3015 circa 1977.
